This blues/rock bad boy delivers the spank and acoustic richness only a full size semi-hollow can deliver, but with extra clarity and percussive qualites courtesy of the 25-1/2″ scale maple neck. The bridge pickup is slightly hotter than a traditional soapbar, and the neck pickup slightly cleaner. P-90’s add just the right amount of raw edge to the rich and woody tones. Solid wood construction is featured throughout, with no veneer or plywood. The back, sides and center block are produced from one slab of korina which is routed from the top, and then capped with a solid spruce top. Excellent sustain and attack are coupled with substantial resonance, for a uniquely big and responsive tone. Gear used for this recording: Reverend 112 Hellhound amp on US setting, MI Audio Crunch Box for the overdrive parts, close-miced with a Shure SM58 microphone, Audacity recording software. Playing courtesy of Jason Van Doorn.

Illegal logging is destroying the equatorial rain forests of Indonesian Borneo, bringing the island, once known as the lungs of Asia, to the brink of an ecological disaster. The illegal timber is turned into plywood and is exported to other parts of Asia. It is also used to build furniture for Japanese, European and U.S. markets. The island of Kalimantan’s valuable old growth, called meranti (Philippine mahogany), is used for hardwood flooring and provides wood trim for luxury automobiles.

A very quick & dirty drum sander made out of some recycled Beech butchers block,Birch plywood offcuts, hinges, skateboard bearings,8mm 0-1 drill rod,M6 cross dowels & bolts,6mm green heat weld lathe belt & a grinder that is close to death.
I made it to be completely collapsible so that I can adjust or replace components if need be.
It may not be pretty with rough sawn edges & worn out grinder but it runs very smooth & quiet & the only further work I’m planning on doing is to add a 10mm thick plate of tool steel to the ramp as the ply has a little too much flexibility to be really accurate.

This is a hovercraft that I built over the span of two days. It was really simple to build, but it took around four hours to finish. For the base I used two sheets of plywood, and for the plastic skirt I used a shower curtain (which isn’t holding up very well). Please leave comments if you have any questions.

SOLAR ELECTRICITY FOR YOUR HOME
Solar power is a very good source of power because it is renewable, environmental friendly and free. It would be a very nice idea to have a solar power system at home. However, due to the high setup cost ($2000 or more), not many people would use this system.Did you know that you can lower your monthly utility bills by reducing the amount of regular electricity that you use at home? When you install a solar power kit at home you will be reducing the amount of fossil fuels that are being used which in turn helps to protect the environment. The advantage of converting your home to solar power is to help protect the environment. Fossil fuels that are used such as coal and oil pollute the air and harm the environment, but the solar power kits have no negative effects on the environment. If you appreciate the occasional DIY project, then this one is perfect for you. With a proper set of tools and the right materials like plywood, glass sheets, and photovoltaic cells, you will be able to start building your own solar energy panels. You probably already have most of the necessary tools at home, and the other materials are easily available in stores or on the Internet.
Where to Install your Homemade Solar Panels
The rooftop is generally the best place to install solar energy panels, as this is the area that usually receives the most direct sunlight. If this is not the case, the panels can also be placed in the backyard, in a spot where the sunlight is not obstructed.
Homemade solar panels are easy to install as long as you have an instructional guide handy. You will find a number of affordable resources available on the Internet that you can use.
