I’m building speakers and need to know how to glue veneer on to plywood and other woods
The standard technique is to use contact cement AKA rubber cement. Don’t use the water based stuff. Id will fail over time. But you really need to know that the good stuff lets off fumes, a lot of them and they are quite flammable. People have been killed after they caused explosions using the stuff. You coat both surfaces, let dry and put sticks on the work. Put the veneer on and start removing the sticks from the middle. Then you need to use a roller, preferably a rubber one to force the two surfaces together with pressure. Don’t use a finish that will dissolve the rubber cement. That’s another mistake commonly made. Shellac makes a good undercoat for spirit based top coats.

What is the most similar wood in appearance to aniegre?
I’m building a piece of furniture with some aniegre stock I picked up, but to keep costs down, I’m going to use plywood for some of the less visible parts. What is the best match in color/grain to the aniegre in common hardwoods. Should I get Oak veneer ply?
The anigre I’m familiar with is more of a ‘blonde’ color… oak veneer ply tends to be made from red oak, and has more red/pink coloring than the anigre. (For those not familiar with this wood, its pronounced ‘anna – grey’) I used quite a bit of it in the furniture industry.
You didn’t mention if this was figured anigre, or not. Ash, hickory, and maple may be closer color matches…if this is figured anigre, then a fiddleback maple might be the closest match. But if you’re ordering veneer – really, you may as well order anigre to begin with. It’s actually a fairly easy to get veneer – here are a couple of suppliers, but there are many more, you can find with a search "anigre veneer".

Do I need a Jointer?
I am starting the construction of my own kitchen cabinets. I have done it before using solid maple and maple ply with great success, but in a new book I am reading, the author highly recommends the purchase of a jointer. Now, I understand that the jointer makes a straight edge on the lumber, but if I am purchasing dried S3S lumber, does it matter? With 3 edges straight and surfaced, won’t my planer be sufficient to get good parallel edges? The wood is Paduak. I plan on doing a lot of edge jointing of the wood to make wider boards because Paduak is not commonly available as a veneer on plywood (where it is, it ends up being more expensive than solid wood). Any help is appreciated.
You might be able to make due with a router and a carbide straight blade if you have a good table and fence.

what is best option for kitchen cabinets and trollys in India – MDF or plywood compare look, price, durability?
I am planning to get kitchen cabinets and trollys done in my new flat. What is the best option if we are to compare price, durability and looks. I think MDF looks beautiful but I have heard that hinges and screws come out pretty easily and it is not durable. Is that true? How long does a MDF kitchen last usually? How about plywood combined with laminet or veneer which one looks good and how durable is it compared to MDF? What is the price range for a decent kitchen?
Look:
-You can laminate/veneer either materials (plywood, or MDF) so both are equals as far as appearance is concerned.
Price:
-MDF is cheaper
-Plywood is more expensive
Durability
MDF is very intolerant to water
Plywood: higher water tolerance, and lower weight
For base cabinets (those that would be below counter tops), I’d only use plywood in case of a spill. For a trolley I’d only use plywood because of it’s higher strength, and lower weight. For overhead cabinets MDF is not a horrible option, but that ultimately depends on how long you want this kitchen to last.
In 2×4/2×6 wood frame construction, can you substitute steel tension bands for the plywood/drywall sheathing?
Then add sprayed-on water, thermal, a/o fire resistive/protective coatings and lighter-weight veneers with fewer nailing/fastening schedules?
I am looking to replace the plywood with a new method of frame reinforcing that uses steel strapping bands to stiffen, strengthen, and resist movements of the framing. I will not be placing plywood or drywall on this frame.
