Canoe Building. Any choices besides Marine plywood?

Alright so im looking into building a simple canoe, I was going to do the "6-hour canoe" style. I was looking up supplies and saw that the amount of marine plywood that I would need would cost like over 200$. It is rediculously expensive. Is there any other type of plywood that I could use that wont rot or fall apart in the water besides marine plywood?

You could try regular plywood and cover it with resin. Probably would fall apart before too long, but might last awhile. A good pair of paddles is going to cost you around $200. If you’re gonna be out on the water it pays not to be too cheap.

make a frame from pvc pipe and cover with canvas and resin. or use a waterproofing over the canvas.
