-You can laminate/veneer either materials (plywood, or MDF) so both are equals as far as appearance is concerned.

Price:
-MDF is cheaper
-Plywood is more expensive

Durability
MDF is very intolerant to water
Plywood: higher water tolerance, and lower weight

For base cabinets (those that would be below counter tops), I&#039;d only use plywood in case of a spill. For a trolley I&#039;d only use plywood because of it&#039;s higher strength, and lower weight.
