		<description>The anigre I&#039;m familiar with is more of a &#039;blonde&#039; color... oak veneer ply tends to be made from red oak, and has more red/pink coloring than the anigre.  (For those not familiar with this wood, its pronounced &#039;anna - grey&#039;)  I used quite a bit of it in the furniture industry.

You didn&#039;t mention if this was figured anigre, or not.  Ash, hickory, and maple may be closer color matches...if this is figured anigre, then a fiddleback maple might be the closest match.  But if you&#039;re ordering veneer - really, you may as well order anigre to begin with.  It&#039;s actually a fairly easy to get veneer - here are a couple of suppliers, but there are many more, you can find with a search &quot;anigre veneer&quot;.
