all 3 are good answers so far…but make sure that you can cut all the way through the veneer so it will not splinter, and do not use a coarse blade, use a fine one so as not to shatter the substrate.. References : er doc

I cut the veneer with a Stanley knife held against a metal rule. The knife must have a new very sharp blade though

Score the grain with a razor knife before you cut to prevent chipping, and put tape on the table of your saw to prevent scratching
